PACKING & SHIPPING

Make a list of the jewelry and/or photocopy all of it in duplicate, one copy to be included with the shipment, one to keep. Price and/or bag the jewelry, if you wish.  Please give me notice when a parcel is being shipped so I can expect it and plan time for it, and so that I can confirm the shipping address.

PLEASE DO NOT CLEAN THE JEWELRY or replace stones before shipping. 

The packing up part is relatively easy.  The main object is to keep the jewelry from rattling around in the package, or rubbing against other jewelry.   It is usually sufficient to just layer them in a sturdy box with paper toweling or tissue, and enough newspaper or packing at the top to keep it from moving around within the box.  The weight of cardboard boxes isn't great, but you might want to skip any paper or leatherette covered metal boxes.

 Some people prefer to bag each piece in a little plastic bag.  Pieces of jewelry that are in their own boxes should have a bit of toweling or tissue put inside to keep the jewelry from moving around within that box.  It can be sent through the United States Post Office, and should be insured.  Priority mail receives less handling than other mail, and the post office will provide free priority boxes is a variety of sizes.  UPS, Fedex, and Airborne are also options.
