Silver tone Flamino with his beak in stylized waves, above a pastel multi-color rhinestone bar, with a large transparent, square, pointed top rhinestone, prong set in the Art Deco style.   The point on the transparent rhinestone has a percussion on the top, making it look slightly crackled in the center.  Vintage costume jewelry circa 1930-40  1 3/4 inches.

RARE ~Not a word to use lightly, this is believed to be a rare & collectible figural.   Marked Coro-Craft Sterling, circa 1940s, probably an Adolph Katz design of a Scott's pelican. The clear rhinestones in the areas of neck, head and tail feather are set in silver tone; the remainder of the body is rose gold plated over sterling.    About 2 1/4 inches, vintage costume jewelry in top notch excellent condition.

AIRPLANE BROOCH

EXOTIC STERLING RHINESTONE EMBELLISHED BIRD

Circa 1930s original, yellow gold plated Sterling fantasy bird BROOCH.  About 4 inches at the wing tip to tail tip, the rhinestones are bright and clear.   Note the darkened area near the pin stem hinge on the back;  it appears that a very professional and almost undetectable repair has been done here, with no adverse effect to the brooch.  Marked Sterling.   Vintage costume jewelry in excellent condition, circa 1930s.

1980 KENNETH J. LANE PEAR BROOCH

Originally done in pearlized blown glass in 1966, the design was resurrected in the mid 1980s in cast plastic in a variety of colors.  Fully dimensional this 1980s version  is a deep green at the bottom with a little gold bloom-end, and  with some color variation on the body of the pear.   Topped by a crown and leaves with rhinestones set in textured gold tone.  Vintage costume jewelry in like new excellent condition. 2 5/8 inches.    The original is shown in Kenneth J. Lane Faking It, page 82.  The cast version, like this one, is shown in Costume Jewelers The Golden Age of Design,  by Joanne Dubbs Ball, valued at $250-$300 in 1990.
