DAMASCENE CUFFLINKS, Double Side

Damascene jewelry is delicately hand crafted. In old days, it was applied to decorate swords, mirrors and other articles. The elaborate technique has been inherited for over 1,000 years and is still being practiced today.  Inlaid with 99.999% pure gold and silver in a background of urushi black, each piece is made by hand and is unique to the artisan. Double sided 1920 cufflinks, the front depicts house, clouds with volcano in the background.   The backs are oval and have a silver bird and a golden bird in flight.    Joined by chain.
