Five diamonds with a total weight of 0.15 carats set in a 14K yellow gold ring, along with a Ruby/Ruby doublet.  Let me explain a doublet ~ it is two pieces of material joined just at the girdle.  Sometimes a doublet will be one material on the top and a different material on the bottom.  Doublets (triplets, too) are commonly seen in opals, are sometimes used to achieve exotic stones, and for reasons of economy.  This particular gemstone is a ruby/ruby doublet, that is the bottom section is ruby and the top section is ruby.  This doublet was made with the addition of some color, allowing the maker to achieve GREAT color that would otherwise be unaffordable.  Beauty, size & durability are there, along with the economy of price.   Fine estate jewelry, contemporary in style, retail replacement estimated at $600.  Ring size is 6 1/2 ~ can be re-sized, ask me.  The oval ruby measures 9 mm x 7 mm, the top of the ring is 12 mm (1/2" in width).

'OLDIE' HARDSTONE CAMEO RING

Naturally layered colors in hardstone have been carved into a white and brown (sard) rectangular cameo.  Set in 14K yellow gold, notice the fine detail on the sides of the shank.  The back of the cameo frame is enclosed and the ring mounting is heavy with no wear showing.  Thought to be circa 1890-1910, by the family.  Enlargements show the ring as you will see and also enlarged & sharpened for examination of detail.  Antique estate jewelry, very good condition. 4.0 gr.

PINK SAPPHIRE - 1/5 carat diamonds

ENAMELED FILIGREE RUBY RING

The style of filigree wire work in this fine RING is very ancient. Thought to have originated in Mongolia before 1700, it later became a northern Chinese jewelry craft. The filigree is worked by hand, using tweezers, then fused in ovens. Then the process of enameling begins with ground powders and several trips to the ovens. This ring is contemporary, richly 24K gold plated over sterling, and set with an oval red ruby, grown in a laboratory.   The enameling is pale pink, dark forest green and cobalt blue.   Size  6 1/2,  new contemporary jewelry in excellent condition.
