Carved pieces of Mammoth ivory may be vintage or contemporary and come from the Wooly Mammoth. VINTAGE IVORY FLORET EARRINGS Perfectly carved, about 1 inch, pierced post, these EARRINGS appear to
have been never worn. Vintage early 1970s, in new, excellent
condition. |

PAIR OF VINTAGE IVORY BANGLE BRACELETS Circa 1970, this pair of like-new condition vintage elephant ivory
bracelets was apparently never worn. They are carved
rope style and wound with a 14K metal ribbon. Average size, they
measure 2 1/2 inches across the center and are 7 mm wide. They both
exhibit a considerable amount of identifying Schraeger lines
and some crosshatching. Sold singly, please note

LOTUS FLOWER GODDESS - VINTAGE CARVED IVORY The Lotus flower has many associations with gods and goddesses of
various Asian beliefs. This one is thought to be the Chinese
Kwan-yin Guanyin. The BROOCH is well carved and 2 1/4 inches
high. The ivory has acquired a mellow patina and
exhibits natural Schraeger growth lines.
Circa 1940s, from China, the simple clasp is silver tone
metal. Vintage estate jewelry in excellent
condition, comes with two screw back, matching
earrings. |

VINTAGE LARGE AND CHUNKY ROPE CARVED IVORY BRACELET Not your usual ivory from the 70s, this one is old and nicely
carved probably in the African bush. It has been stained,
probably with tea, to show off the crosshatched, Schraeger (growth)
lines. It is beautifully finished but with character, with the
inside showing the cut marks made by the artisan. 11/16s wide
(18mm) x 3/8 (10mm) wall, 2 5/8 inches across will fit an
average to slightly larger wrist. Vintage estate jewelry
in excellent condition, circa 1930-50. Estimated Retail

VINTAGE IVORY RING, 14k RIBBON Size 6 1/4, vintage ivory ring carved in spirals across the top.
It has been threaded with 14K gold ribbon. Never worn, this
item is from a lot which included many unworn pieces, most of them
hand crafted in Germany. Circa 1970s.

LONG STRAND OF VINTAGE IVORY SPIRAL BEADS VERY CHUNKY necklace, the lovely ivory beads range from 40 mm x 20 mm
at the largest to 12 mm long at the smallest. The beads are
separated by small round beads and they exhibit plenty of Schraeger
(growth) lines. Length of necklace is about 30 inches.
It can be restrung at a shorter length if desired. Never worn,
this item is from a lot which included many unworn pieces, most of them
hand crafted in Germany. Circa 1970s. Estimated Retail

LOVE THESE BLOCKY, NOT QUITE ROUND BEADS Vintage ivory NECKLACE, graduated in size, perfect length for
bead size at 25 inches. The beads are
large, center front is 18 mm (3/4 inch). The blocky bead shape
gives them interesting character. Estimated Retail Replacement

THICK BANGLE WITH STERLING WRAP Perfectly round and chunky, vintage ivory BRACELET is 11 mm thick and
has a shiny Sterling (marked) wrap for interest. Never
worn, this item is from a lot which included many unworn pieces, most of

across and fits an average wrist. |

CREAMY IVORY EARRINGS Stair step, fan shape vintage ivory clip EARRINGS. Cream in
color, they measure 1 3/8 inches. Never worn, these
are from a lot which included many unworn pieces, most of them hand
crafted in Germany. Circa 1970s. |

LARGE BEAN SHAPE VINTAGE IVORY EARRINGS Clip EARRINGS, they measure about 1 1/4 inches. Vintage estate
jewelry, ivory, in excellent condition. Never worn, these
are from a lot which included many unworn pieces, most of them hand
crafted in Germany. Circa 1970s. . |

LAPIS LAZULI AND IVORY DESIGNER NECKLACE The ivory pendant, 3 1/2 inches wide, has been set with two oval Lapis
cabochons in hand-worked sterling. A sterling folded bail is set
with an additional cabochon. The Lapis beads are large 10 mm ones,
with smaller beads under the bail and near the clasp. Four 12 mm
ivory beads and some silver color beads are added to complete the
design. The bail, tipped in the picture, lies properly when worn.
Length of bead portion of necklace is 22 inches. The pendant adds
another 2 inches. The vintage ivory has the finest of Schraeger
growth lines, indicating a source other than elephant ... probably ancient
Mammoth. Vintage estate jewelry in excellent
condition. |

VINTAGE IVORY BANGLE BRACELET Forty years old and probably never worn, this one is in like new
condition. Vintage estate ivory bangle, 2 5/8 inches across the
center, 1/2 inch wide with a 5/8 inch deep wall.

A WORD ABOUT IVORIES ON THIS WEBSITE ~~~ All of the elephant ivory, walrus ivory, and other ivory, except Wooly Mammoth fossil Ivory, is Vintage to Antique, was artfully hand carved before the bans, and is pre-owned and is acquired on a piece by piece basis from individuals and estates. Color ranges from white to cream in the new state and acquires patina as it ages. The workmanship & beauty of these lovely pieces deserve to be appreciated beyond their origin. The Mammoth Ivory is 10,000 - 40,000 years old and is being carved for current market principally in Indonesia & China. Sources for Mammoth Ivory are limited and come from Canada, Alaska & and Russia. Color ranges from off white to warm mocha and pieces may exhibit several tones. The backs of some pieces may show interesting green, brown & black color where the tusk was exposed to the surrounding soils.
