Most ivories on these pages will be elephant or mammoth. All of the elephant ivory is vintage and acquired through estates and individuals and was legally imported in years past. Mammoth ivory may be vintage or contemporary and comes from the Wooly Mammoth that roamed the northern hemisphere between 2 million and 10,000 years ago. Other ivories will be identified when their source is known. |

Hand carved of old ivory and painted. Very exotic with a
"day-glo" intense blue on the petals, shading to purple on the

SOLD! 1109.. BANGLE BRACELET ~ VINTAGE Vintage elephant ivory, the bangle is flat on the inside and
rounded on the top & carved with a corrugated pattern, making it
appear to spiral. Someone loved this bracelet and wore it a
lot ~~ it has mellowed dramatically and is a creamy pale yellow, showing
lots of graining & character acquired through age. 2 1/2
inches across, it will fit an average wrist. 1/2 inch wide and
the wall is 3/8 inches thick. Estimated replacement value
$510+. |

Carved in the style of a sentimental Victorian hand and flowers, this BROOCH is a new carving of prehistoric mammoth ivory (guaranteed). Exquisite carving , see the enlarged view, and note the ring and bracelet. Large, actual size is 2.5", with high relief. IVORY NAPKIN RINGS with SCRIMSHAW DRAGONS ~ VINTAGE Set of eight, vintage elephant ivory Napkin Rings. Each is
scrimshawed in blue, green, red and black with a fire breathing
dragon and four lines of script. These are old,
each ring clearly shows the Schraeger lines of real ivory and
demonstrates the creamy mellowness of age. 3/4 inch wide, the
rings are slightly different sizes, a result of having been cut from a
tusk where the dimensions vary. Vintage estate

off. Mellow ivory color, showing plenty of typical Schraeger
growth lines, 7/8 inch wide, 4 mm thick
