TRUE HEARTBEAT OF HASKELL Circa 1935, this elaborate clip is from a Haskell Fall line
which included necklaces and clips of varying size and
complexity. This 4 inch clip is from the top end of that
design line. Hand painted gilt metal leaves, gilt metal flowers,
green glass beads and the flattened "M&M" beads, in orange and
yellow, that Haskell was fond of. The top three beads are wired
to the main base of the clip. All of the other beads, gilt florets,
etc. are suspended from chains of transparent emerald green
beads. Haskell jewelry from this era is seldom found in
perfect condition, and this is no exception. Close examination
reveals that the top, center gilt floret and the top, left gilt floret are
missing two petals each, see a see picture with
arrows. The clip is free of verdigris. A necklace, clips (with brown dangle beads) and
other pieces from this line are pictured in several places in Miriam
Haskell Jewelry by Cathy Gordon and Shiela Pamfiloff, see page 132 for the
necklace and several clips, see P 42 for the hand painted leaves.

STUNNING DIMENSIONAL BLACK FLORAL BROOCH This floral Miriam Haskell BROOCH almost forms a
pom-pom. Each gold tone petal is pierced in a double diagonal
pattern and set down the center with nine, black, faceted
rhinestones. The petals curl out and down ... you simply must
see this from the side and the back. You will note that the petals extend about
1/2 inch beyond the back of the brooch, a deliberate device so that the
brooch fits snugly to the fabric without falling forward. Gold
tone, 2 3/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches high ... this is a particularly stunning
piece of signed Miriam Haskell jewelry, attributed to the designer Robert
Clark, circa 1960. Vintage costume jewelry Although almost unseen, there are some tiny wires
securing some of the petals on the top
side. In some cases, only the wire around a portion of the petal is seen, and
in some cases, the twisted wire
ends are seen as well, Considered a
profession repair A gift to the fashion director at Marshall Field, from
the Miriam Haskell company, upon completion of a successful
campaign. Reference Miriam Haskell Jewelry by Cathy Gordon &

PROTOTYPE ~ ONE OF A KIND ~ PIECE OF HISTORY THE CHICKLET NECKLACE *** SET ***
It's truly stunning and you'll either love it or hate it.
The bright orange, lozenge shape glass beads look so much like
Chicklets that there is no other possible name for it. Apparently when the
Haskell company needed a gift for someone, they sometimes used
a prototype of jewelry that was never brought to market, and either quickly finished
it or even left it partially . Note the
uncharacteristic showing of the raw metal edges not covered with beading
in the center of the necklace.. These could have been
used for additional loops of beads, but weren't. In addition, you
will see that the top two triangular sections have some beading around the
orange and green rhinestones, while the bottom triangular section has
none at all. Close-up of center section
. The back side shows the bottom triangular section
to be finished on the edge with gold tone metal beads
that are not seen from the front, elements characteristic of "working out" a
design. The earrings clearly are more
finished, more fully filled with bead loops and the edges have been
covered with green beads on the front and gold metal beads on the sides
(almost unseen from the front). The NECKLACE is 15 inches
with the front fall at almost 4 1/2 inches. The clips,
with adjustable screw backs, EARRINGS are barely short of 3 inches.
Both pieces are signed Miriam Haskell. While perhaps lacking
in "finish", these vintage 1960s costume jewelry pieces are
priceless as a piece of history and will be "perfect" in any
collection. Pristine condition. A gift to the
fashion director at Marshall Field, from the Miriam Haskell company,
upon completion of a successful campaign. Reference Miriam Haskell
