HOBE' YELLOW GREEN *** PARURE ***

Definitely not boring colors ~ stunning on the right person!  The opaque yellow green round  glass beads are faceted and finished with aurora borealis.  The silver tone roundels are mirror faceted to reflect sparkle.  The light Jonquil yellow beads are highly rumpled nuggets, sensibly made in plastic to keep  the whole a comfortable weight.   The NECKLACE is two strand, adjustable to 17 inches, and the front beads are 10.5 mm.   The clip EARRINGS are 1 1/4 inches, cluster style and are marked Hobé. Matching spiral BRACELET goes around the wrist 3 1/2 times.   Vintage costume jewelry in like new excellent condition.

ORNATE & INTRICATE  HOBE ROSE BRACELET - STERLING

Magnificent sterling BRACELET, meant to fit closely on the wrist, it is 7 inches long, and at the widest is 1 3/4 inches.  Intricate, many petal roses and rose buds are cupped in the large leaves.  Hand constructed, a look at the back will give you an idea of the workmanship used to make this wonder.  The brooch that arrived here with this bracelet was designed in 1944; the bracelet is probably the same era.   The hidden box clasp is marked Sterling Hobe in a triangle (used 1933-1957).  As contemporary & desirable now as it was then, the massive BRACELET is in excellent condition, has been lightly polished on the front, and tarnish has been left in place in the crevices and on the back.

HOBE STERLING BOUQUET BROOCH

Rose and ribbon bouquet BROOCH, about 3 inches.   The same brooch is shown in archives  as being designed in 1944.  The brooch shown in the patents, #138937 has a few colored rhinestones in place of some of the rose buds that cascade from the center, and in all other respects is exactly the same.   You can view the design patent as well as a brooch on the Morning Glory site, if you are interested in the history.    The applied round plaque on the back of this brooch is marked Hobe 1/20th 14K on Sterling, design pat'd.  It is my opinion that an incorrect plaque was soldered here, as there is NO evidence that this brooch was ever gold plated and normally there would be some evidence of that in the nooks and crannies.  In addition, the brooch came in with a similar bracelet clearly marked Sterling (only).  The bracelet is massive and will be added to this site in a few days.   The BROOCH is in excellent condition, has been lightly polished on the front, and tarnish has been left in place in the crevices and on the back.

HOBE EARRINGS ~ HASKELL STYLE

EXCITING RED, hand wired clip EARRINGS.   The antiqued, textured leaves are layered over and hand wired to the filigree back, then the rows, long and short,  of red seed beads, are wired to meet in the center and covered there with three opaque ruby red, bi-cone beads.  Marked Hobe, clips with the little built in comfort roller.   Vintage costume jewelry in like new condition, about 1 inch, height is abut 1/2 inch.

HOBE' STERLING RING

HOBE' STERLING BOW BROOCH

One of Hobe's more famous patented designs, this sterling bow has six loops, each of which has an applied leaf laid along the top, two bow ends, a large center rose with multiple, layered petals,  and three stemmed buds along each side.   Circa 1940s, Sterling, marked Hobe Sterling Design Patented on a round applied plaque.   Vintage estate jewelry in excellent condition.  2 1/2 inches x 1 1/2 inches.   This has been lightly polished to bring out it's beauty; you can see on the back  the depth of the original  tarnish.

HOBE STERLING BUTTERFLY BRACELET

Handmade in sterling, from Hobe, set with blue glass stone. Nice detail, each joining link has a trefoil of granulation.  There is a small blob of metal on the bottom of one link, see arrow, indicating a prior repair, otherwise in excellent condition.  Length is 7 1/2 inches x 1 inch.  There is some evidence that this may have originally had a gold wash.  Circa ... perhaps 1935-48.  Vintage costume jewelry.

HOLLYCRAFT *** SET ***

Hollycraft 1953, the BROOCH, while it looks flat, actually forms a pinwheel pattern of the largest rhinestones.  The brooch measures 2 inches; 5 of the small yellow rhinestones show some graying but I think it best not to replace them at this time.   The matching, domed, clip EARRINGS are 1 inch.

An early piece of costume jewelry from Harry Iskin, it is signed "Iskin" rather than the usual initials.  Gold filled yellow and rose tone metal, nice attention to detail in the joining links, and the slightly Nouveau flavor.  Centers are light topaz color glass rhinestones.  Length is 7 5/8", width 7/16".
