ROSE COLOR ART DECO NECKLACE
Oooh Ahhhh .. superlative combination of color, shapes and
era! The triangle, unfoiled, faceted glass stones are
unusual. Combined with the squares set in the Deco Fashion,
they make for a fabulous piece of jewelry .. so much so you won't
mind that the original plating on the mostly unseen frames has lost much
of its original plating, quite common with these older
styles. Vintage costume jewelry 15 1/2 inches in length,
s 1/2 inch, it fastens with a spring ring.
1930S FILIGREE, STERLING BROOCH SET WITH MARCASITE

frame. The Deco checkerboard side pieces are glass enamel on
gold. The chain is 14K yellow gold spaced with 5 mm jadeite
beads on each side. The jade is natural and undyed. Original
clasp apparently abandoned in favor of an easier to manipulate hook and
eye, silver tone base metal. Total length is 18 inches; the
medallion and pendant fall 2 1/2 inches from the chain
attachments. An appraisal dated April 1987 indicates a retail
appraisal at that time of $1675. (Good gosh, $1675
adjusted for inflation is a shocking $3439.) Appraisal criteria
has adjusted since then, and Sparklz estimates current
replacement value at $2400 +.
SOLD! 1606.. 1930-1940 ART DECO BRACELET
As bright and beautiful as the day it was made, this 7 inch x 3/8 inch
BRACELET is an excellent example of the quality workmanship that spilled
from the fine jewelry makers into the early era of costume
jewelry. Made exactly the same way as fine jewelry! A simple Deco
design, the heavy square, rhodium plated links are set with clear
rhinestones .... each prong set by a jeweler's hand and each has a
slightly raised sapphire color, faceted rhinestone, also prong set by
hand. Meant to be believably "real", it does pass easily for
the finest jewelry. Vintage costume jewelry in excellent

ART DECO, FRENCH SQUARES, CRYSTAL NECKLACE
Circa 1920-30s, this style NECKLACE was fashionable in many
conformation, most usually with round glass stones. This is a little
more unusual with the three front drops and the square stones,

the smal rounds in alternate links. The glass stones are

leaving a totally open back. Vintage costume

Bernard". Sterling, the reverse of each link is marked

Nouveau style. The reverse is engraved fancifully with either two or
three initials. The locket is about 1 inch. The
interior is complete with frame and transparent plastic protector for

the cutting technique. The orange beads are glass and the others are
brass with impressed design. The centerpiece features a cluster of
orange fruit and two leaves on filigree .. note the interesting
design on the reverse. About twenty inches long. The original

sections. A large filigree floret centers the frosted
oval. It looks like a circa 1930s brooch and has a simple

UNUSUAL SHELL CAMEO PENDANT NECKLACE
Handcarved in layered shell, the figural style indicates it is probably
circa 1920s. The Gold Filled frame is unusual and gives the piece a
gentle importance. The pendant, including bail, measures 2

piece will last many more years. Vintage costume jewelry in
REDUCED!! VICTORIAN BIRD BROOCH, 14K YELLOW GOLD
Hand made brooch features three colors of karat gold, much of it
textured "diamond cut". The flowers, leaves, seashell & bird are
individually made and mounted on an open framework. Set with
tiny turquoise cabachons and three perhaps natural or perhaps
cultured baroque pearls. The bird is usually silver and in this case
appears to be silver with a partial gold wash. Sparklz can't
find the reference she used when she had a pair of earrings like this
brooch, but the recollection is that this is traditional "Jewelry of the
People" made in a remote Mexican village and has been made for generations
in exactly the same way, so it is difficult to actually date. The
clasp is a curlique c-style, which would indicate that
this probably dates to the first third of the 1900s.
Further research may elicit more information. Sparklz is
looking through her library for the original information. In the
meantime apparently similar pieces can be seen in David & Pack
"Mexican Jewelry". The dangles hang correctly, they just look askew
as the picture was made on a scanner. In excellent condition,
except for a missing floret near the bird's beak. Antique estate
jewelry, the BROOCH is about 2 3/4 inches. Estimated
replacement value $2200-$3500.
GARNET COLOR PENDANT NECKLACE, CIRCA 1920
A real beauty, the pendant is plated in rich "Russian" gold tone and
bezel set with six faceted faux, simulated garnets, with three
faceted beads dangling below. The fancy 18 inch neck chain is a
succession of elongated, faceted beads and round faceted
beads. Many of the end caps on the beads have lost a
portion of their plating and are showing the underlying base metal as is
the wire work. One line in the filigree, just the edge at the
5:00 position appears to be a break but is actually an incompletion
in the original stamping. Vintage costume jewelry, Circa
approx. 1920, still very desirable.
INTRICATE VICTORIAN BRACELET
Hinged, bangle bracelet with ornate fluted areas, and flowers.
The design is applied on top of the basic 5/8 inch wide, textured bangle
and is 1 5/8 inches wide at the center. Gold plated brass,

shape, it measures 2 1/2 inches across and will fit an average
